This short film is a mirror of the Director and Producer, Jelena Puskic (Sorkin), fight with her own fears of losing her mother while chasing her dreams. In this film, we can see two sisters who were separated when they were younger (one wanted a different life, so she went for it). While the other moved to New York and devoted her life to social status, material things, being important in the company, etc. One of the sisters (Leona) got cancer (cancer is a metaphor for fear in the film), and she’s trying to reach her sister Kaiya, to talk to her, to apologize, but… Kaiya felt abandoned for far too long even to answer. Everything else is “more important” than her sister Leona at that moment. People always run away when they’re scared of being hurt. We see two sisters- the twins- in a parallel universe of two souls.
“Parallel universe, ” means two different situations at two other locations, two different lives at the Same Moment throughout the film. We see them fighting for life or fighting for social status. Who will get what?
This movie intends to influence people to stop for a few minutes and ask themselves, “What is it that they are chasing so much while they don’t spend enough time with their family? Why we don’t appreciate the biggest blessing on this planet? And I know for sure that nobody wants to see these two words: too late.” How much more valuable is L O V E than any material things you can sell, lose, spend…?!
“Twins” is a silent film. The team has been working on facial and body expressions. Making this film has helped the Director and Producer deal with that fear and make sure they cherish the time with loved ones. Or at least to show them that they do understand how they feel all this time.
