A native of Pennsylvania, Elizabeth Kinder earned a B.A. from New York University in 1984, majoring in Art History. During her undergraduate years, Kinder was elected to the Golden Key national honor society, and was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.



Kinder began her professional career in freelance motion picture film editing, starting out as an assistant picture editor and eventually performing as supervising sound editor on documentaries, television programming, commercials, and independent features.



One of Kinders first projects was with the New York Center for Visual Historys Voices and Visions, a multi-part documentary series on American Poets. Over the next several years, Kinder was retained to work on more than half of the films in the series, in various capacities.



Throughout the later 1980s, she was also a regular at Bud Greenspans Cappy Productions, well known for the Sixteen Days of Glory Olympics documentary series. At Cappy, Kinder was a member of the Cable-Ace award-winni
