Edna Luise Biesold

Edna is a native German turned New Yorker who alternates between her identities as a Cinematographer and Writer/Director.
Full Bio
Edna Luise Biesold is a German born and New York based filmmaker.
She is a member of cinematographersxx and a recipient of the Franz Wieser Grant from ARRI as Director of Photography for fantasy short film THE MOLOK, featuring live action puppetry and practical effects. The film is currently touring festivals.
Edna honed her craft at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts on the The Dean's fellowship with a special focus on cinematography. She is a traveler and language enthusiast and has shot projects across the globe. She also holds a degree in Linguistics and Literature studies and is Co-Writer and Co-Director of the feature film THE COLOR OF TIME about Pulitzer Prize winner C.K. Williams.
3 MONKEYS will be her solo debut as director and is presently in development. The story features hearing, CODA and Deaf talent and earned her a Creative Career Design Fellowship from NYU's Production Lab in Spring 2022. Edna most recently directed the short film SUNSCREEN, her first screenplay in ASL, which has won her
