An Emmy Award-winning journalist covering NYC for over a decade. She’s worked across the country in FL, IL, and CA for nearly 20 years reporting on terror attacks, mass shootings, court trials, hurricanes, wildfires, education, health, business, and, of course, politics. Checkey has covered the last four presidential elections including the game-changing 2016 and 2020 races reporting live from D.C. on Jan. 6th. A Jamaican immigrant who moved to the U.S. as a child, she’s worked her way up the success ladder, beating the odds.
