Full Bio
Stavroula Toska was born and raised in Sindos, a small town in Thessaloniki, Greece. She moved to New York City to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and went on to act in off-Broadway plays and student films before launching her own production company and turning her focus on producing, writing and directing. She founded The Toska Matrix Productions as her vehicle for producing and sharing deeply meaningful human stories and crafting work that taps into the essence of who we really are, explores trauma and healing while entertaining and educating.
Her works have been supported by Sundance Institute, Women Make Movies, Jerome Foundation, Chicken + Egg Pictures, NYSCA, National Arts Club and more. Her films have premiered and received international acclaim including multiple awards and honors from New York Women in Film and Television, Sundance Film Festival, Tribeca Festival, Palm Beach International Film Festival, Flickers Rhode Island International Film Festival and countless more festiv
