Amy Epstein is a writer, director and producer based in New York.
Full Bio
Amy Epstein -- writer, director and producer based in New York. Her first short film I’ve Got You Babe (an action/adventure pic) premiered at the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s New Director/New Films Series at the Museum of Modern Art and was sold to and broadcast on the Sundance Channel. Other works include the music film Homage To Drink, co-written with Obie Award winner Cynthia Hopkins, who also stars in the film which premiered at Joe’s Pub in 2003, the documentary Joseph about a 13-year-old boy and his love of writing. The film But This Is How It Will End, which she wrote, produced, directed and edited, features the New York actor Steven Rattazzi and premiered at the NY Indie Theatre Film Festival in February of 2019. Written works include the feature script Shepherdstown, The Girl To Whom Everything Seemed Sad and the short film scripts Poet at Work and If Not For You. She has received fellowships from the Edward Albee Foundation, The MacDowell, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.

Producer/director/editor: Principal photography completed in late 2021 -- DP Currently editing, close to finishing. Will be having a screening in the May of 2025 at The National Jazz Museum in Harlem and The Greenwich House Music School.
Portrait of two New York City jazz musicians: Randy Felton – singer/guitarist and Marvin Neal – trombonist – and the power of their work and friendship.
