Christine McBurney is a multi-hyphenate who has transitioned from a long career in professional theatre and theatre education, to an on-camera actor, acting coach, writer, and director. Selected directing credits include the short film, Fortune Favors the Bold (dir & producer), a NYSCA/NYFA-funded production of the operatic monodrama, Moon in the Mirror, 10-minute plays, musicals, classical theatre, and Shakespeare. She was co-founding, producing co-artistic director of Cleveland's critically-acclaimed classical theatre company, Mamai Theatre (2010-2017). In 2017, The Cleveland Critics' Circle honored both Mamai­ and her production of A DOLL’S HOUSE at Playhouse Square with two Superior Achievement Awards. In 2024, she was a finalist for the inaugural Tina Packer Women of Will Directing Fellowship. As an actor she has appeared on TV, in films, regional theatre and and The Metropolitan Opera. She is currently writing a second screenplay & a solo show.
