I am a writer, director, and teacher.

I have a MFA from Columbia University with a concentration in screenwriting. Since 2008 I have taught screenwriting and the film business at the School of Visual Arts. Guests to my class have included Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, James Franco, Geoffrey Fletcher, Precious, and many others.



I was the Creative Director at the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures from August 2005 to May 2012. As the Creative Director I moderated Q&As with such notable directors and actors as David Cronenberg, Ang Lee, Annette Bening, Melissa Leo, Kerry Washington, Salma Hayek, Michael Fassbender, Robert Downey Jr., Vera Farmiga, and many others. I left my job in May 2012 to start my own production company in order to produce screenplays, graphic novels, and video games.



During my 14 years as an Army Reservist I was nominated for Soldier of the Year twice and chosen for special ODT missions to work at the American Embassies in Cairo, Egypt, twice, Nairobi, Kenya, and Islamabad, P
