EDUCATION INTERN

Reel Works

Reel Works seeks a part-time intern for our Reel Works education program for Sept 2020-Jan 2021. We are looking for an organized individual who is detail-orientated and will be able to support our Teaching Artists and Reel Works staff.

Reel Works Education Program services middle and high school students throughout NYC. Students will learn from a combination of instruction, hands-on experiences, trips, and conversations throughout the school year.

Responsibilities include:

The Education Intern will touch base with Instructors, Teaching Artists and Students Teaching Artist teams at each program to ensure weekly reports of the classroom are complete.

Support in outreach and recruitment for programs and student for programs and teaching artists.

Assist Education Team as needed

Qualifications:

Detail-oriented with excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and writing skills

Able to assist education staff with administrative work behind programming

Passion for working with school-age children (middle school to high school) in a public school setting

Has experience in community organizing, team building and group dynamics

Interact in a professional manner with school faculty and administration, parents, and students as well as work with a diverse set of community-based organizations, residents in various communities, institutional and governmental organizations

Report weekly to supervisors about ongoings in classroom

Multiple languages is a plus

Salary: This is a part-time position that does not include health benefits. Hourly wage commensurate with experience in filmmaking, technical skills, teaching, and youth development.
