2022 Spring Editorial Internship

Penguin Random House

Penguin Random House will be offering a remote paid internship opportunity available in one of their adult or children’s editorial departments. When a book proposal is received, the editor decides whether or not to pursue it for acquisition. An editor works with the author to turn the manuscript into a finished book. They negotiate contracts, edit the books for content, structure and on a line-by-line basis, and collaborate with internal departments on how to package, market, and publicize the book.

Interns will learn more about the editorial process, publishing industry, and our business through employee speaker series digital events over the course of the program. Spring interns work for 14 hours per week for 8 weeks and are paid $20hr. Intern schedules will be flexible to account for candidates who may be in a variety of time zones.

To be eligible, you must be a rising college senior, a graduate; and/or any candidate available for full-time employment within 6 months to 1 year. You need not be enrolled in college or have a degree to apply to our internship program. You must be located in the US during the dates of the program.

The Application Deadline is January 13th, 2022, at Midnight EST. If you complete the application by December 16th, let us know you applied. Email us at community@centerforcommunication.org with your resume and cover letter after you complete the online application.
