The Story: A group of multi-ethnic students who attend an inflexible Japanese immersion school are out to beat their Kpop rivals by risking everything not to get expelled, while learning to accept who they are inside.

MISA

• Female, Japanese bilingual, looks 17-24yrs

• Excellent Japanese language skills preferred, but not required

• Will be required to dance

• Fit model type preferred

• All she wants is to show her father she is smart enough, get back with her boyfriend and lead her dance team to victory, and, she has the fire to do it

• This role will undergo several days of Kpop dance training – Japanese dancers strongly encouraged to apply

CRASH

• Female, Japanese-American, looks 17-24yrs

• Improv comedy experience desired

• In-your-face kind of girl, hip-hop type of girl who detects microaggressions, over guards rights/boundaries.

SOO-YUN

• Female, Korean, bilingual in Japanese, looks 17-24yrs

• Japanese language conversational level preferred but not required

• Will be required to dance

• Parents hate that she goes to Japanese school but put up with it, wants her to marry a nice Korean boy

• This role will undergo several days of Kpop dance training – Korean dancers strongly encouraged to apply

JIN

• Female, ethnically either Black/Indian/Middle Eastern, looks 17-24yrs

• Excellent Japanese language skills preferred, but not required

• Will be required to dance

• Born and raised in Japan, homesick, stuck in USA where she's even more misunderstood

• This role will undergo several days of Kpop dance training

TOK

• Male, any ethnicity, looks 17-24yrs

• Plays in a band and is Misa's ex-boyfriend, quiet but deep, charismatic idol type

SENSEI

• Male/Female, Japanese, looks 28-50yrs

• Excellent Japanese speaking skills

• Strict, biased, steeped in Japanese tradition

KPOP DANCERS

• Dancers only - Female/male, Korean ethnicity, looks 17-24yrs (4-8pp)

• Will be required to dance

• Arrogant yet talented, out to put the Jpop team in their place

JPOP DANCERS

• Female, Japanese ethnicity, looks 17-24yrs (2pp)

• Will be required to dance

• Teamplayers, part of the Japanese immersion school dance team

DUDES

• Male/female, non-Asian, looks 18-30yr (3pp)

• Not familiar with Asian cultures or nuances

JAPANESE STUDENTS

• Male and Female, Japanese, looks 17-24yrs, (5pp) - limited speaking roles

• Classmates, gossips about the main characters with lofty expectations

JANITOR

• Male, looks 55-65yrs, any ethnicity

• A true servant to the school who will soon retire
