Studio Camera Operator

Essential functions 

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Offer technical and creative solutions to provide visual quality for air 
  • Build, test and prepare cameras for air 
  • Operate multiple types of studio cameras/formats, primarily Studio Pedestal Camera. Additional responsibility to include handheld camera operation 
  • Operate per Director/Technical Director's instructions 
  • Expertise operating for multiple program show formats and styles 
  • Extensive experience with Sony Professional HD Cameras 
  • Ability to think quickly, communicate well and keep pace 
  • Strong client service and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to handle pressure 
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills 
  • Responsible for compliance with all applicable company policies 

Basic qualifications 

  • Experience/expertise operating studio cameras, including both pedestal and handheld cameras 
  • Experience/expertise in a live studio environment
  • Strong client service and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to handle pressure in an on air environment 
  • Knowledge of TV production processes 
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills 
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously 

Eligibility requirements 

  • Must be available for all shifts, including overnights, weekends and holidays 
  • Must be willing to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift as needed 
  • Must be willing to work in New York City 
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the US 
  • Must be 18 years or older
