Filmmaker/Documentarian Needed for Family Biography Project

Project Details:

• Location: NYC (Tribeca area)
• Schedule: Flexible, with multiple short sessions (2 hours each) spread over a few weeks to accommodate the subject’s stamina.
• Scope: Multiple interviews, including family interactions. Photo scanning and organizing as part of the final production (although limited archival material is available.)
• Deliverables: A 5-10 minute highlight video and a 1-hour documentary edit.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in documentary filmmaking or similar projects.
• Strong storytelling abilities, especially with personal or family history content.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly with the family.
• Sensitivity and understanding when working with subjects dealing with health-related conditions.
• Strong editing skills (including color grading, sound mixing).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with legacy or family biography projects.
• NYC-based filmmakers are preferred.
• Students or recent graduates from film programs are encouraged to apply.

Compensation:

Compensation will be discussed based on experience and scope of the final deliverables.
