Help advance women's careers in film, television, and digital media by making a donation to NYWIFT today. Founded in 1977, NYWIFT advocates for equality in the moving image industry and supports women in every stage of their careers. As the preeminent entertainment industry association for women in New York, NYWIFT energizes women by illuminating their achievements, presenting training and professional development programs, awarding scholarships and grants, and providing access to a supportive community of peers.

NYWIFT provides completion funding to women filmmakers through four grants: The Loreen Arbus Disability Awareness Grant, In-Kind Post Production Grants, the Nancy Malone Marketing & Promotion Grant, and the Ravenal Foundation Feature Film Grant.

The NYWIFT Scholarship provides financial assistance to female undergrad and graduate film students at Brooklyn College, the Brooklyn College Feirstein School of Cinema, City College of New York, Columbia University, Hunter College, New York University, and the Stony Brook/Killer Films MFA in Film program. The Sabrina Wright-Giliar Scholarship is awarded to a female high school senior graduating from the Academy for Careers in Television and Film (TvF).

Founded in 1995 by NYWIFT in conjunction with the Museum of Modern Art, the WFPF is the only program in the world dedicated to preserving the cultural legacy of women in the industry through preserving films made by women.

NYWIFT’s Archive Project is a valuable archive of video interviews with women who have been, or are, working, in the film, television and digital media industries over the last 40 years. The New York Public Library of the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center will be making the NYWIFT Archive Project available in the library itself and online to scholars and the public. Your generous support will help continue this important work and prepare the existing archive for the Public Library.

New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) accepts tax-deductible contributions for nonprofit film and video projects produced by NYWIFT members. Projects in NYWIFT’s fiscal sponsorship program must have a creative, an education or a charitable purpose.

The Writers Lab is an intensive four-day script development retreat for women screenwriters over 40. Meeting one on one and in panels with outstanding female film professionals, as well as in peer groups and directed discussion sessions, talented writers examine and refine their work while building a unique and powerful community. Selections are blind and based solely on the merit of the screenplay submitted. It welcomes all genres of narrative feature-length scripts.
