Apple TV The Lady in the Lake Premiere Screening at the Paley Center for Media
June 10th, 2024 was a night to remember. Apple TV + hosted an exclusive screening and conversation for their new television seven-episode series, The Lady in the Lake, at the esteemed Paley Center for Media. This television series features the exceptional talent of Academy Award-winning actress Natalie Portman, who also produces the series, the gifted actress and Emmy nominee Moses Ingram, and the versatile creator, executive producer, director, and writer Alma Har’el. NYWIFT Member Penni Malloy-Harper attended an exclusive screening and Q&A and shares her insights.

Black Public Media (BPM) is going beyond the gender binary and weighing in on the pronoun debate with a short film series — part of its latest BE HEARD! social media campaign, which tackles pressing social issues. The Harlem-based national media arts nonprofit dedicated to creating and producing media content about the Black experience has commissioned Feral Films and Sophia Clark (they/them) to direct I Am Who I Say I Am, a three-part series of micro documentaries with feel-good stories of gender affirmation. Films will be released biweekly on Thursdays beginning October 6 during LGBT History Month as a lead up to Transgender Awareness Week (November 13-19).
