Check Out: this chance to direct a 5–10 minute short based on the Twilight saga, with a $50,000 budget. It is part of a contest co-sponsored by Women in Film/LA. There is also a chance to win a Volvo!
Looking Forward: to seeing Dog Fight on Friday night at the closing night of MoMA’s celebration of NYWIFT’s Women’s Film Preservation Fund. It was directed by Nancy Savoca, one of my all-time favorite directors.
Congratulations: to Firelight Media for wining the MacArthur Foundation Award for Creative and Effective Institutions. NYWIFT member Laurens Grant is a producer and director with Firelight. The $500,000 grant will support Firelight’s Producer’s Lab.
