The fourth annual Athena Film Festival kicks off this Thursday (Feb. 6) and runs through Sunday (Feb. 9) on the Barnard College campus in NYC.
The lineup includes feature films (Short Term 12, In a World…), documentaries (Alice Walker: Beauty In Truth), a variety of shorts, as well as panels (A Conversation With Lexi Alexander, The Women in Film Foundation’s Legacy Series) and special events.
Opening the four-day festival is the New York premiere of Belle, directed by Amma Asante. Decoding Annie Parker, starring Helen Hunt, is the centerpiece film, and Geraldine Ferraro: Paving the Way, directed by her daughter, Donna Zaccaro, will close the festival.
Melissa Silverstein, founder of Women and Hollywood, is the Artistic Director of the Athena Film Festival. Silverstein co-founded the festival with Kathryn Kolbert, who is the Constance Hess Williams ’66 Director of the Athena Center.
