Proud of the fact: Barbra Streisand, the first woman to write, direct, produce, and star in a single movie, was honored Monday by the Film Society of Lincoln Center. Well-deserved.

A must-read: The unique interactive Q&A with New York Times readers and Barbra Streisand.

Looking forward to: “Guess Who?“ — a group of very short films (2+ minutes) that teaches children ages 6-9 to challenge gender stereotypes through the use of video and educational curriculum. The films, produced by ITVS and the Geena Davis Institute for Gender Equality, will air on PBS stations and can be seen online at Independent Lens.

Terry Lawler is the Executive Director of NYWIFT. Tune in every Tuesday for her picks of the week.
