PLOT SYNOPSIS

NICK GUERRA enters a San Diego diner seemingly lost. Shortly after, a customer calls out for VICTOR ALVAREZ, a diner owner who asks Nick what he’s doing there. Nick applies for a job, getting closer and closer to Victor who pushes him away. Through running the diner Victor tries to establish his masculinity, while Nick follows, resulting in a huge argument and Nick looking over his sperm donor files, pondering if this really could be his father. After righting wrongs and an eventual surf trip Nick learns to accept himself as who he is, and not a spitting image of Victor, whereas Victor learns that he can’t always tell Nick what he needs, and to broaden his expectations of what being a man means.
