PLOT SYNOPSIS

Calli, 40, goes to her vacation family to celebrate her father’s retirement party. Over the weekend, she must help Christine, her hated stepmother, make the party a success, while silently dealing with the repercussions of an unwanted pregnancy.

“Calli & Christine” is a multi-generational family story about keeping each other’s secrets and lies – in a good way. The story unfolds through the ailing patriarch’s retirement celebration, bringing together disparate family members. Our main character must keep her balance by allowing her stepmother into her secret, and trusting her to keep it. The family unit creates the ul2mate love and absolu2on in holding each others’ secrets, as a way to necessarily forge the in2macy that keeps us all together

KEY CAST:

Christine Verleny
Christine Verleny is a versatile actor on screen and stage. Known for her comedic and dramatic skills, Christine’s ongoing “soap opera” on the stage, It’s Ge(ng Tired Mildred, now at almost 70 “episodes.” Christine is also a film producer. Originally from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Christine earned her BFA in Theater at The Ohio State University. She has also trained under William Esper and Barbara Marchant.

Clare Louise Frost
Award-winning actor Clare Louise Frost was born in Washington, DC, and lived in Istanbul, Turkey, for many years, working in commercials, TV, and film. Clare’s very first TV role was as Kristen Norton in the internationally-known Turkish series “What is Fatmagül’s Fault?” (¿Qué Culpa Tiene Fatmagül?, Fatmagül’ün Suçu Ne?) More recently, she acted with M. Night Shyamalan in his cameo in “Knock at the Cabin.” Clare’s professional training was under Seth Parrish and Lee at The Barrow Group Theatre.

Director: Micah Stathis
Award-winning writer-director Micah Stathis was born in the Midwest and raised in Greece, in Ano Glyfada just outside of Athens. Micah served three years in the US Army, being deployed in combat in Ramadi, Iraq. He is a decorated veteran.

Micah’s films include short films “Izzy” and “Rest”, among others, and his award-winning first feature “The Sisters Karras”.

Micah has professionally trained with Rob Spera (AFI), Seth Barrish (The Barrow Group Theater).

Micah has extensive experience as a television producer and technical director, working for years at MNN (Manhattan Neighborhood Network) on community events, political and policy debates, variety shows, Urban Word poetry slam, educational programming and more. He holds an MFA in Film from NYU Tisch.

Clare brings her visual eye to her productions. As well as being an actor and producer, Clare is a designer and produces her line of handmade textiles and clothing in collaboration with artisans in Turkey, India, and Afghanistan. Her work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Vogue, Elle Decor, House Beautiful, and other top publications. She is a graduate of Brown University.

Born in the Philippines, based in Queens, Nikko is a filmmaker and cinematographer with over 7 years of experience in the visual arts. Besides filmmaking, Nikko teaches cinematography and lighting at the New York Film Academy. He is a graduate of Brooklyn College’s film program.
