Suzie Pickles, a star on the wane, has her whole life upended when her phone is hacked and a photo of her in an extremely compromising position is released for the whole world to see. This excruciatingly honest show follows the various stages of Suzie’s trauma episode by episode, through Shock, Denial, Fear, Shame, Bargaining, Guilt, Anger, and Acceptance as Suzie and her best friend and manager Naomi try to hold her life, career, and marriage together in the face of being exposed for who she truly is. But who the hell even is that?

Billie Piper is one of the most successful multi-hyphenate performers of her generation best known for her role as Suzie Pickles in the Sky UK’s drama series, I Hate Suzie. In November 2020, the series premiere for the US audience on HBO Max garnering rave reviews among critics and audiences alike. Recently, Billie appeared alongside Sally Hawkins in the BAFTA Cymru-nominated feature film Eternal Beauty. In 2019, Billie starred in her directorial debut feature film, Rare Beasts, which had its world premiere at the 2019 Venice Film Festival and became an official selection of SXSW Festival in 2020. At the age of 15, Billie signed her first recording contract under her mononymous stage name “Billie,” and soon became the youngest artist to ever enter at number one on the UK charts for her pop single, “Because We Want To.” Later in 1998, her debut album Honey to the B was certified platinum in the UK. In 2004, Piper transitioned into acting, debuting as Rose Tyler in BBC’s cult classic series Doctor Who from 2005 to 2006, and reprising the role in 2008, 2010 and 2013. Her other notable TV credits include ITV’s Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and Showtime’s Penny Dreadful. In 2018, Billie starred in the David Hare mini-series on BBC2, Collateral, alongside John Simm and Carey Mulligan. Billie is the only actress in history to have won all six of the available “Best Actress” awards in UK Theatre for a single performance accolades to her role in Yerma. Throughout the years, she’s picked up numerous other “Best Actress” awards for her performances including The Effect (National Theatre) and Great Britain (Royal National Theatre). In March 2018, Billie reprised her role of Her in the Off-Broadway production of Yerma which earned Billie a Drama Desk Award nomination for “Best Actress” cementing her as a great performer in the US theater scene. Billie currently resides in London with her three children.

Last year Nathaniel Martello-White starred in the Sky Atlantic miniseries I Hate Suzie opposite Billie Piper and it was the No. 2 show in 2020 according to The Guardian. He also appeared in Steve McQueen’s BBC project Small Axe (No. 3 on the Guardian list), playing a fantastic part in Mangrove, the first of his stand-alone films which was part of the official selection for the 2020 virtual Cannes festival. He joins a cast that includes Letitia Wright, Shaun Parkes, Jack Lowden and Malachi Kirby. Other notable television work includes the BBC drama Collateral opposite Carey Mulligan directed by SJ Clarkson, the Sky Altantic/Showtime mini series Guerilla opposite Idris Elba, Frieda Pinto, Babou Ceesay and Rory Kinnear that was written and directed by John Ridley and the lead in the CBS drama One Dollar created by Craig Zobel. Other credits include Peter Mackie Burns’ feature Daphne and Jack Thorne’s Ch4 drama KIRI. Nathaniel’s theatre credits include playing ‘Mark’ in the original production of People, Places & Things at the National, writing Blackta which premiered at the Young Vic and Torn which played at the Royal Court. On the writing front he has two features very far down the line, one with the BFI and Film 4 and the other he is developing with Ian Rickson. He has multiple TV series in development, and a play for the Royal Court. He was a Screen International Star of Tomorrow in 2017 and the first artist to be featured as a multi hybrid – Actor/Director/Writer. 

Lucy Prebble is an award-winning, multifaceted writer across film, television, and  theatre. Since 2018, Prebble serves as a co-executive producer and writer on the BAFTA, Golden Globe, and Emmy award-winning HBO drama series, Succession, for which she received a 2020 Writers Guild of America (WGA) Award in the category for ‘Outstanding Drama Series’ and a 2020 Producers Guild of America (PGA) Award in the category for ‘Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television.’ Additionally, Prebble co-created the Sky Atlantic drama series, I Hate Suzie. Previously, Prebble created and co-wrote the British television series, Secret Diary Of A Call Girl. In 2016, Prebble co-wrote the British comedy talk-show program, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order on BBC Two and in 2017, Prebble served as an executive producer and writer on the pilot for HBO’s television movie, Untitled Sarah Silverman Project. In theater, Prebble wrote the political and emotional meta-thriller A Very Expensive Poison. In 2013, Prebble scripted The Effect, a play about the study of love and neuroscience, which premiered at the National Theatre and won a Critics’ Circle Award in the category for ‘Best Play.’ In 2016, the production had its US Off-Broadway performance at the Barrow Street Theatre and was listed in The Independent as one of the 40 best plays of all time. In 2003, Prebble’s first play, The Sugar Syndrome, opened at the Royal Court Theatre and won her an individual George Devine Award in the category for ‘Most Promising Playwright’ as well as a Critics’ Circle Award and a UK Theatre Award (formerly a TMA Award).  Prebble contributes to major publications as a journalist and wrote a weekly technology column for The Guardian newspaper. She also writes computerized games and is fascinated by new technology and storytelling. In 2014, she was the head scene writer for Bungie Inc.’s massively successful video game, Destiny. In June 2018, Prebble was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature for its “40 Under 40” initiative and in 2019, she was a recipient of the Wellcome Screenwriting Fellowship, allowing her to explore where the world of film meets science and research.

Daniel Ings plays COB, opposite Billie Piper, in the critically acclaimed Sky Atlantic series I Hate Suzie. He starred in CBS pilot-to-series Instinct opposite Alan Cumming, running for two series and also features as Commander Mike Parker in smash-hit Netflix series The Crown. Daniel stars in a leading role alongside Johnny Flynn and Antonia Thomas in all three series of Lovesick, appears in a suitably harrowing episode of Black Mirror, and features opposite Gillian Anderson in the ever-popular Sex Education. Last year, he shot Julian Fellowes’ charming historical drama The English Game – also streaming on Netflix. He’s a familiar face on the BBC’s W1A, playing the role of Matt Taverner in all three series to date. Feature film credits include the role of Zach in Eddie The Eagle For 20th Century Fox, Jack Ryan And Walt Disney’s Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Leila Farzad graduated from Oxford University with a Degree in Modern Languages and trained at Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Her most recent theatre includes the all female Richard II at Shakespeare’s Globe and Julius Caeser at the Bridge Theatre. Her recent TV appearances include: I Hate Suzie, Count Arthur Strong, Innocent, Cuffs, Man Down, Twenty Twelve, Law & Order and Married Single Other.

Mara Webster (moderator) is a programmer, producer, content curator, moderator and interviewer.  She is the Co-Founder and Head of Programming for In Creative Company, a year round digital talk series focusing on in depth craft driven discussions around the creative process across film, television, theater and the arts. Prior to this her most recent role was programming, producing and moderating screenings and talks at SAG-AFTRA Foundation both in person and online.  She has also moderated numerous panels for other companies including Netflix, AppleTV+, HBO, IFC Films, BAFTA and numerous film festival Q&A’s. In her time as Director of Panels & Special Events and an Associate Programmer at Tribeca Film Festival she grew the talks program creating new strands of programming in film, tv, theater, VR and music and produced the inaugural TIME’S UP conference. At Tribeca she was involved in programming feature films and tv where she helped to launch television into both the festivals main slate and contributed to the creation of the Tribeca TV Festival. She has worked in key roles with numerous events including Vulture Festival, Abu Dhabi Film Festival, Hamptons International Film Festival, Nantucket Film Festival and Sundance. She currently consults as an Associate Programmer in Features & Episodic for Sundance and for The New York Times events team. Born and raised in England by a Texan and a Scot, she now calls New York home!
