New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) continues the series Women Filmmakers: Immigrant Stories with the screening of documentary film Home by filmmaker Dawn Scibilia.
Women Filmmakers: Immigrant Stories is a free screening series of work by women filmmakers focusing on the immigrant experience throughout the five boroughs of New York City. This series showcases a feature-length documentary film.

Home, is about a young male Irish Immigrant in NY. The film deals with the concept of home, the journey, how one changes once they’ve left one home for another. The film is also a meditation on New York and deals with themes of change, transformation and longing. Home includes interviews with Susan Sarandon, Fran Lebowitz, Woody Allen, Pete Hamill, Liam Neeson, Rosie Perez, Mike Myers, Colin Quinn, David Amram and many others who share their thoughts on the themes in the film.
Dawn Scibilia (Director)
Multiple award-winning filmmaker Dawn Scibilia was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and is a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Her debut documentary, Home, won critical acclaim and earned an Emmy Award and two Emmy Award nominations. Dawn co-produced, directed, photographed and edited the documentary featuring New York notables, Susan Sarandon, Woody Allen, Liam Neeson, Mike Myers, Rosie Perez, David Amram, Elaine Kaufman, Pete Hamill, Frank and Malachy McCourt, Alfred Molina, Fran Lebowitz, Colin Quin, Vinny Vella, Armand DiMele, Alan Cooke and a host of immigrant and native New Yorkers.
Dawn started in the industry as a Screenplay Analyst, Film Runner and Production Assistant, and has worked on New York based TV shows, music videos, and major studio motion pictures. Dawn continues to pursue directing and considers herself an actor’s director.
Screening followed by a Q&A and reception with the filmmakers.
