Innovation Series: The Promises of Artificial Intelligence in Media presented IBM and WarnerMedia

Join IBM and WarnerMedia for an evening exploring the intersection of technology and media. IBM and WarnerMedia will present how technology is driving meaningful audience engagement in this connected consumer era. Media companies and media makers are facing even more competition for the wallet and attention of audiences. IBM will present how artificial intelligence (A.I.) is used to provide compelling experiences. WarnerMedia will do a presentation on different technological innovations in advertising.

Speakers

Susan Malaika is Senior Technical Staff in the Cognitive Applications group in IBM focusing on open source for Data & AI. Malaika also leads an IBM tech community of a few hundred volunteers in the New York area – & she loves hackathons.

 

 

Kendall Quinn is part of the team leading WarnerMedia’s development of next generation ad capabilities, notably around audience targeting and advanced television solutions. Quinn started her career at Simulmedia, where she learned the meaning of grist and to always challenge the status quo.

 

Carrie Seifer (Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer, IBM Watson Media and Weather), leads global revenue and sales strategy for the group, packaging media, data and tech product offerings to present a cohesive set of products and services for businesses across all industries – from auto to agriculture, entertainment to consumer packaged goods and beyond. Previously, Seifer was the President of Mediavest USA, where she led the company’s digital practice including strategy, operations and investment. Seifer is a veteran of the media industry and has received industry accolades, including Adweek Media All Stars, Business Insider 30 Most Powerful Women in Mobile, and Cynopsis Media Top Women in Digital. Seifer also serves on the boards of IAB, Ad Council and MMA and is a Big Brother Big Sister of NYC.

S. Casper Wong is an award-winning New York-based filmmaker, technology lawyer, and social entrepreneur. Her documentary feature debut, The LuLu Sessions, has won 10 international awards and nominations in every major category, with a US broadcast on PBS’s World Channel America ReFramed Series. She is the Creator of the Peace Pod Project, a multi-platform VR/AR/MR dedicated space for facilitating reconciliation between 2 people. She is a two-time winner of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Screenwriting Grants and a New York State Council on the Arts Grantee. She has directed and produced in China since 2005 and served as the studio executive for Roger Corman’s first co-productions with China. Prior to receiving her MFA from NYU in directing, Casper was Senior Attorney for IBM General Counsel in Silicon Valley, and received a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University. She is the Founder of Asian American Women Media Makers, and is on the Board of Directors at New York Women in Film and Television, leading its Innovation Initiative.
