Cynthia Picks: Be Natural, NYWIFT Podcast, Meet Jane

Be NaturalNYWIFT is proud to co-present a special screening of Be Natural: The Untold Story of Alice Guy-Blaché – the first female filmmaker and inventor of many modern filmmaking techniques – at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington, DC, in honor of Women’s History Month. The documentary features clips from several Guy-Blaché films preserved by the NYWIFT Women’s Film Preservation Fund, including A Fool and His Money, Matrimonial Speed Limit and Mixed Pets.

NYWIFT Podcast: Have you subscribed to the NYWIFT Women Crush Wednesdays podcast yet? It’s available on iTunes, Spotify and Podomatic. The most recent episode features a great interview with member Lara Stolman about her documentary Swim Team (we just did a case study program about the doc last week), and a conversation with Women’s Weekend Film Challenge co-founders Katrina Medoff and Tracy Sayre.

Meet Jane: Meet the new “Jane.” Jacqueline Grace Lopez has landed the lead in Jane the Novela, the CW’s Jane the Virgin spinoff pilot.
