Designing Women: Last week marked NYWIFT’s 17th annual Designing Women gala as we paid tribute to another phenomenal group of costume, hair and makeup designers. See photos from the red carpet, awards presentation and reception, and read a great write-up from Bust Magazine.
Equality Database: I am happy to see that some of the brands that I favor are on the top of this “equality database” project. I plan to be a more conscious consumer by choosing brands according to how well women are represented in their leadership.
Power Producers: At Women in Film LA’s Crystal + Lucy Awards, the eight women producers being honored spoke plainly on pay disparity and being told “you don’t look like a producer.”

Meet the New NYWIFT Member: Rosemary Lepre Forman
Let’s welcome Costume Designer and Wardrobe Stylist Rosemary Lepre Forman to NYWIFT! She has contributed her artistic vision to a myriad of projects such as Woody Allen’s Deconstructing Harry, Spin City starring Michael J. Fox and Heather Locklear, Sex and the City, Law & Order: SVU, Friends from College, Red Oaks, Darren Star’s Younger, and the film Summertime. After many years of dedication, Rosemary received the NYWIFT Designing Women Award in 2011 for her contributions to the TV show Nurse Jackie and later earned the title of Head Costume Designer. When she is not working, Rosemary enjoys playing ukulele and is an avid runner. She is also a devoted mom who divides her time between Manhattan and Windham, New York.
