Terry’s Picks: July 23
ARVE Error: need id and provider

Go Check Out: the Asian American International Film Festival. It runs July 24th through August 3rd and is a chance to see films from and about cultures as diverse as Nepal, Taiwan and even North Korea. You can find information on ordering tickets here.

Excited: that The Heat surpassed the $100 million mark at the box office and proves a the ladies can bring home the bacon.

Looking Forward: to one of my favorite directors, Ava DuVernay (Middle of Nowhere, Venus Vs), directing Selma, about Martin Luther King’s historic voting rights campaign. David Oyelowo is set to play King.

Terry Lawler is the Executive Director of NYWIFT. Tune in every Tuesday for her picks of the week.
