Now Streaming: Robin Hayes' Documentary Black and Cuba
NYWIFT member Robin Hayes' documentary Black and Cuba is now available for streaming on iTunes, Amazon, Amazon Prime and Google Play. The award-winning film follows Ivy League students who band together and adventure to the enigmatic island of Cuba—whose population is 60% Black.

Robin J. Hayes, PhD is Assistant Professor of Non-Profit Management, Media Studies and International Affairs at The New School. She was the first person at Yale to earn a combined PhD in African American Studies and Political Science. She directed the documentary short Beautiful Me(s): Finding our Revolutionary Selves in Black Cuba, which was received enthusiastically at film festival and campus audiences throughout the US, Canada and in Cannes. The National Endowment for the Humanities and the Ford Foundation have funded her work. She is also founder and Principal Organizer of Progressive Pupil.
