Preparing for the audio mix begins on your first production planning day: “What is the optimal way to capture the sound?” Moving forward, “How should I organize my audio elements for the picture edit?” Next, “What’s the best approach for adding my music and sound design elements?” Then, “If my deliverables include stereo and 5.1 formats, how should I prepare?” Of course, “How much is all of this going to cost?” Along with, “How long will the mix take?” And, “Why not just mix this in my own Premier (or Avid or FC) system?” Finally, “What are the likely deliverables?” And, “Who handles the technical aspects?”
