Producing WEB TV: Reinventing Storytelling, Content Creation and Distribution 

As demand for original online video series explodes, how do you create a hit in this exciting new format?  Whether you’re developing your own web series, or want to work on one, this panel of media pioneers will tell you what it takes to produce a hit online video program.  
Citing examples of popular shows like Route 666: America’s Scariest Home Haunts and Dad’s Labs, they will review what content works best online, explain how the interactive production process is changing content creation and look at different pathways of distribution. They’ll divulge the best ways to create buzz for your project and generate income over the Internet.

Ryan Gang
is an Agent in the Interactive Media Division at Paradigm, one of the top talent agencies in the entertainment industry, providing across-the-board representation for clients in areas that include motion pictures, television, music, comedy, interactive media, publishing and commercial endorsements.  Paradigm’s Interactive Media division specializes in finding digital opportunities for the agency’s existing clients.  Some of the past original content deals have involved clients such as Jay Mohr, Michael Cera, Aaron McGruder, Jason Alexander, Jamie Kennedy, and many others.








Maria Lane spearheads Atlas’ new vision for all non-traditional media, marrying the company’s longstanding reputation for top-quality production with unique solutions for the new media environment. Ms. Lane launched Atlas’ foray into the world of web-based content as Executive Producer of a 25-part web series for Disney’s Family Fun Magazine. Cross-platform companion series for such History Channel hits as America Eats and History Rocks. Projects under her guidance have included a series of 31 webisodes for Comcast’s FEARnet, The Vote, 101 and Path to the Podium webisode series for History.com, a mobile phone content project for Discovery, and a web series for mylifetime.com. During her tenure as Atlas’ Executive VP of Programming, Lane ushered in such highly-acclaimed series as Dr. G: Medical Examiner for Discovery Health, History's  Lost & Found and American Eats both for the History Channel, Top 5 and Behind The Bash for Food Network, among others. Prior to joining Atlas Media Corp., Lane was a scriptwriter for series on A&E, the Travel Channel, and National Geographic Explorer.

Dina Kaplan is a co-founder and COO of blip.tv, an online television network focused on featuring and  promoting the best original shows on the Web.  Blip.tv shares advertising revenues with content creators, and syndicates shows throughout the web. Kaplan oversees operations for the company, including media partnerships, advertising and sponsorship deals, public relations and marketing. Before blip.tv, she was an Emmy Award-winning local television news reporter, an associate producer for MTV News, the Director of Research for the Office of the White House Counsel and the assistant to the Director of Presidential Personnel.

Paul Kontonis
is the Chief Executive and a  co-founder of For Your Imagination, an digital media studio which develops,  markets and distributes high-quality original web video series,  targeted video networks and branded entertainment. As an  interactive media veteran for over 15 years, Kontonis is a new media  pioneer, developing interactive content practices. Previously, he was the  Executive Director of Film/Video Arts, an independent filmmaking non-profit;   Chief Marketing Officer of btldesign, a marketing communications  agency; and Vice President of Sales and Marketing at SenseNet, a Web  application development agency. He appears in a  number of marketing publications, digital media books including the  Documentary Filmmakers Handbook, and is a speaker at several industry  conferences and seminars annually.







Moderator Deborah Brozina’s experience in management consulting, technology development, and film production – position her perfectly to guide clients who want to benefit from media and technology convergence.  Deb has combined her expertise into a media consulting firm, called Making Change Productions, LLC, that helps both large companies and entrepreneurs to define media and technology solutions that change the game they are playing.   It was her passion and creativity that drove her to pursue a career in film at the same time.  She developed a parallel path as a camera assistant; working on Mighty Aphrodite, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Insider and TV shows such as NYPD Blue, and Spin City
