Women Filmmakers: Immigrant Stories continues with a screening of Four Journeys by filmmaker  Teresa H. Mular.

This free screening series of work by women filmmakers showcases a themed exhibition of short and feature-length films that focuses on the immigrant experience throughout the five boroughs of New York City.

(Pictured above) A documentary about four Latin American women who immigrated to New York. These are four stories of courage, stamina, strength and success. All four women are risk takers and they weathered the affairs of a different culture and country to finally succeed. This film is dedicated to all immigrants.

Dr. Teresa H. Mular is an award-winning filmmaker whose work has screened internationally. Her first documentary, Flying on the Wings of Time (Volando en las Alas del Tiempo) pays homage to the various artistic complexities and cultural life of Buenos Aires. The film screened in 2012 at the XXXIV International Women Film Festival of Florence, Italy, to great acclaim, as well as numerous other festivals, and received a Silver Award in the Short Film Category at the Oregon Film festival. Other credits include The Muse is the Mountain and Now Boarding. Mular was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she completed her university studies and graduated as a Medical Doctor at age 23. Mular moved to New York, to further her training at Downstate Medical Center, State University of New York -  Kings County Hospital, in Brooklyn. She became an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology years later at the same institution and had a long career as a physician and teacher.
