Join PR and Marketing expert Autumn Marie for the first installment, Building Your Brand Through Social Media, an interactive workshop designed to empower participants to market themselves and amplify their message via social media. Marie sees social media as a form of PR, the PR you control. She will cover owning one's expertise and/or project, building your personal brand, and promoting it through social media platforms with a main focus on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. She will explore examples of the impact of social media in the industry and beyond.
Topics will cover:
- Social Media: Your Voice, Your Brand.
- #'s and @'s. Are you using them correctly and how do you get the most out of them?
- Why is it important to interact in real live time?
- Do's and Don'ts of social media/social media gone bad.
- How do you use social media to promote the work you are doing with others in a way that promotes your brand.
Interactive exercises will provide real hands on experience. Attendees will leave the workshop with the tools to own their brand and maintain an active and successful social media presence.
- Attendees should have some basic knowledge of social media.
- Attendees should have an active Facebook, Twitter and Instagram account even if they have not yet posted.
- Attendees should bring a device (a tablet, phone or laptop) to use for the session.
Autumn Marie is a media and marketing professional dedicated to elevating stories beyond their traditional platforms and mediums for maximum reach and impact. As a former account executive at 135th Street Agency, Marie has worked on PR campaigns for OWN TV, Open Road Films, TV One, Urbanworld Film Festival and Weinstein Company. Previously while at Digiwaxx Media, she led influencer marketing activations, event production and press events for clients such as Jamie Foxx, Puma, Samsung and more. With more than ten years experience, Marie is currently an independent PR, marketing, event and community engagement consultant. Her clients have included Sway Calloway, ImageNation Outdoor Film & Music Festival, Talib Kweli and ACLU.
