Creative Business of Screenwriting
You're a writer working in New York and you've just finished that million dollar screenplay. It's time to take off your creative writer's hat and focus your energy on effective marketing.
This informative seminar will show you how to assess the market for your script and discover what you need to do to establish contacts and productive working relationships. You'll learn to write a great logline and bio, pitch to industry contacts, and protect yourself legally, tax-wise and story-wise. The workshop includes a complimentary workbook.
Marilyn Horowitz
(
@marilynhorowitz
) is a NYWIFT member, writer, producer and script doctor with a large private practice. She teaches Writing A Screenplay in Ten Weeks and Rewriting A Screenplay in Ten Weeks at NYU. Her workbook,
How To Write A Screenplay in Ten Weeks
, is available at the NYU Bookstore.
This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and the New York State Council on the Arts.
