Boys in the Backroom- The Film

There are rooms in all of us that should stay locked.  A door just opened....

BOYS IN THE BACKROOM is a dark, ensemble feature film about the nature of evil in all of us.  The events of a single night unfold through the eyes of Reba, a lost soul and frequent inhabitant of the Back Room, a private bottle club.  There a heinous act is perpetrated by a group of neighborhood men who then must face its consequences.

Reba recognizes evil when she sees it, even in herself, but she is too damaged and too tired to fight back. By retelling the story of the Backroom, she assuages, though only for a little while, her terrible loneliness.

Thank you for visiting this page to consider supporting the making of BOYS IN THE BACKROOM.  This is an ultra-low budget feature film, which means not that the quality will be low, but that every dollar counts. No donation is too small and any amount you can donate is important to us.  Unlike some sites where a certain amount must be raised in order for the project to receive any of the funds pledged, we receive every dollar you contribute less a 7% administrative fee collected by NYWIFT, our fiscal sponsor.  Your donation is tax-deductible and may be eligible for matching funds from your employer.

Here is an idea of what your contribution can do:

$10 buys two hours of HD videotape
$30 is the average entry fee to submit this film to one film festival
$100 pays one actor for one day's work
$350 is the cost of liability insurance
$500 is the approximate cost of workers comp insurance
$1200 pays the salary for one of our lead actors for the entire shoot, not including employer payroll taxes

Every contributor will be thanked in the film's credits, unless you request otherwise.

We believe that the story of BOYS IN THE BACKROOM needs to be told. Thank you for helping to make BOYS IN THE BACKROOM a reality.
