Ask Me Anything with Line Producer Leah Harper

Interested in line producing for television? Line producers manage the fast-paced daily operations and fluctuating expenses of film and television productions, acting as key decision makers for each day's shoot. New York Women in Film & Television is excited to bring Leah Harper, an Emmy Award-winning line producer, to our Ask Me Anything series.

Leah Harper has 14 years of experience in award show, concert and event production below the line. She spent time at NBC, CBS and VH1 before founding her own company, Happy Place Productions. Harper's credits include MTV Video Music Awards shows, Showtime's Inside the NFL, VH1's Hip Hop Honors, Rock Honors & Divas, Storytellers, the Frieze Art Fair and Nelson Mandela's 90th Birthday Celebration in Hyde Park.

Harper has also sought to empower the next generation of media professionals throughout her career. In 2008, she founded Colorbars Network, a networking organization for people of color pursuing careers in media and communications. She has also participated in panel discussions for the International Radio and Television Society, Boston University Alumni Association, the New York City Department of Education and the New York City Mayor's Office of Film, Theater and Broadcasting.

Want to know how she got started? What skills are necessary to succeed in line producing for television? This is a great opportunity for attendees to ask Harper for more information about her career!
