|Audio for Film: You Can't Always Fix it in the Mix
Join us for a discussion of what you can do on location that will avoid major problems in post-production, as well as how music and sound in general can help you tell your story.
We’ll also discuss mixing, editing, ADR sound quality, sound design and foley. Plus, there will be a demonstration of the above.
Judy Mauer is the Founder and President of Phantom Audio Corp, one of the first "one-stop shopping" audio production companies, providing casting, producing, directing, music, sound design, edit and ship to air for radio ads, TV commercials and films. Prior to establishing Phantom, Mauer worked as a music and sound producer and casting director at several advertising agencies, including Bates, Lintas, McCann, Della Femina and Messner (where she established and ran the audio department).
Suz Dyer is a unique combination of sound designer, audio engineer and video editor who has worked with such clients as Disney, Cartoon Network, USA Network, Denis Leary, and TCM, as well as with many independent recording artists. After 10 years as a professional audio mixer for commercials and promos, Dyer began working as a video editor. She found herself editing projects for Denis Leary and the Sam Edelman Shoe Company. Her career in post-production began at DDB Worldwide, where she engineered for clients such as Subaru, Philips, Diet Pepsi and Cotton. She had a successful career in the music industry that included stints at the legendary Sorcerer Sound and RPM Studios. During that time, she honed her craft as a recording engineer/mixer, allowing her to go on to record/mix for The Beastie Boys, Dr. John and many others.
