Kill Switch

INT. SUBWAY PLATFORM - DAY - MOMENTS LATER

Noah waits for his train. He watches the number at the end of
the clock tick up four, five times, like he never noticed it
before.

A train passes in the opposite direction, empty but for what
looks like Maggie staring at him from the last car.

Noah shakes the image off as a figment of the lighting and
gets on his train.

INT. SUBWAY TRAIN - DAY - MOMENTS LATER

Noah pulls out a spreadsheet: “MEDTECH WORLDWIDE”. His name,
“Dr. Noah H. Miller”, is on the lower right-hand corner as
"CHIEF SOFTWARE ARCHITECT".

Noah runs a finger down and across columns that show the
names of countries and number of citizens in MedTech's
program.

EXT. HIGH RISE ON WALL STREET - CONTINUOUS

Noah walks in:

“MEDTECH WORLDWIDE”.

It is imposing, modern and cold. Noah shivers as he walks
into the air conditioned lobby.

INT. MEDTECH - CONTINUOUS

Noah smiles and greets Guard #1, Thomas, and GUARD #2 as he
walks toward the elevator.

NOAH

Thomas. ‘Morning gentlemen.
Beautiful today, isn’t?

THOMAS
‘Morning Dr. Miller. Looks like it
from here.

Noah keeps walking. Both Security Guards quickly snap to
attention as the elevator doors open.

GUNTHER HANDEL, 56, Chief of Security, exits, his shoulders
fill the elevator doors.

He wears an expensive, custom fitted suit and looks like an
intelligent thug.

Without looking around him, Handel heads straight for the
guards’ desk.

Noah’s smile freezes, he backs away from the doors and gives
Handel wide berth.

Handel does not invite familiarity.

NOAH
(politely formal)
Good morning Mr. Handel.

Not wanting or expecting an answer, Noah gets on the
elevator.

Handel makes a gesture that’s a cross between a salute and an
“I’ve got my eye on you”.

To Noah’s relief, the elevator doors close. He shivers again,
chilled by the encounter.
