WOMG 30 Min Pilot
“Just Cruz’n”
COLD OPEN
FADE IN:
INT. RADIO STUDIO - DAY
ECU. RED LIPS speaking into the radio studio mic.
LENA
These days we’re all so freaked out we BYO to parties with hermetically sealed bottles. Doesn’t matter if it’s the drama club or a fraternity.
LENA 19, bright red lips, heeled boots, high femme, leans back pulling the mic with her like a puppy on a leash. We see STUDIO, neat, clean, metal water bottle, a mini VAPORIZER, and tiny SAGO PALM BONSAI TREE.
DUDE CALLER A (V.O.)
I don’t even know why girls go to frat parties. Those guys are all a-holes.
CUT TO:
INT. RADIO STUDIO - DAY
ECU. Smoky-shadowed EYES doing an ‘oh please’ roll as we hear.
FEMALE CALLER A (V.O.)
Say what you want, but Sarah Palin was a good thing for women.
ALLIE 19, baggy jeans, JOAN JET T-Shirt, chapstick, leans in to mic. We see STUDIO, DONUT REMNANTS, MASSIVE ICED COFFEE, HILLARY CLINTON bobble head doll, signed PAT BENATAR flyer in nice frame ala wedding photo, a pillow. Does she live here?
ALLIE
She’s an embarrassment to all humans who pee sitting down, or standing up for that matter.
BRAD 31 Seth Rogan type, loose chinos, un-ironed button down, in the BOOTH starts laughing and nods.

INT. RADIO STUDIO - CONTINUOUS
LENA
As a proud Delta sister of a house that just went co-ed I’m aware that the Greek system has its flaws, but-
DUDE CALLER A (V.O.)
Woah. I didn’t know you were a sorority chick.
Through the glass IN THE BOOTH we see SAVONE 28, African American, natural hair, business casual, speaks into the mic.
SAVONE
Commercial in three.
LENA nods, ‘got it.’ The CLOCK reads 4:42.
DUDE CALLER A (V.O.)
How can you be a part of something that alienates so many people?
LENA
I believe in the system, flawed though it is. I’m proud of the changes we’ve made. I believe in making an effort from the inside,
Inspirational music begins to play... LENA is leading the troops into battle in her own mind.
LENA (CONT'D)
I believe we can achieve great things-
SAVONE IN BOOTH leans in to her mic.
SAVONE (O.S.)
Commercial in one...
LENA hears in headphones, jolted back to reality. CLOCK reads 4:44.
LENA
I believe it’s time for a commercial. We’ll be right back with more about “getting social” in person on campus.
CUT BACK TO:
INT. RADIO STUDIO - CONTINUOUS
BRAD in the BOOTH holds up a sign: 2 TO C. CLOCK reads 6:43.
ALLIE gives him a THUMBS UP.
FEMALE CALLER A (O.S.)
Sarah Palin was the first woman to run for Vice President in this country!
ALLIE
Uuuuummmmmm. No. That was Geraldine Anne Ferraro in 1984. Are you kidding me?! Bye Felicia.
ALLIE disconnects call. BRAD waves bye, bye. CLOCK reads 6:44.
ALLIE (CONT’D)
Wow people, just, wow. Okay, look we all need a minute after that. So we’re going to commercial, but we’ll be right back right.
